We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving using "low-friction and sliding coatings." Various coatings are being considered to achieve lower friction in automotive engine pistons, but issues can arise regarding their durability and maintenance of quality, making the realization of more suitable low-friction coatings a challenge. The low-friction coating processed by our company is a dry lubrication coating that disperses solid lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide, PTFE, and graphite in a hard resin, ensuring high durability and low friction across a wide range of load areas and speeds. It has also been adopted for racing engine pistons. By optimizing the formulation and dispersion of solid lubricants, we contribute to fuel efficiency through reduced friction.
